Welcome Back Fall 2010

Back to School

Since classes start next week, we're all preparing and spiffing things up. It's a little crazy and messy. (Like this pile of boxes from the new furniture being assembled today.) The anticipation and energy buzz is kind of exciting. I'm making preperations for the Welcome Back activities for next week and starting to look forward to the new semester. Hopefully we'll be ready!

Registration Deadline Nearing

Like Monica Timpson here many of you have met with Athena, (or Brandon, etc) to ensure you're enrolled in the classes you want. Some, however, have not...I know you're out there! So get on with it - online or on campus. The deadline for add/drop is 8/30 and classes start 8/23. Classes are filling up, so don't miss out on the class you want.

Resident Faculty Return

Our resident faculty members are back on campus today. It's nice to see them around again. :) We welcomed them back with coffee, juice, and pastries this morning (see new Academic Chair John Cawley chatting with English instructor Don Timpson). One more sign that it's time to really start gearing up for fall semester - summer is dwindling!

Kid's Shakespeare

Our own MCC kid's drama class treated us to a performance compiled of pieces from multiple playwrights - the works of Shakespeare among them (see picture). It was quite astonishing to have the Bard's poetic lines dropping from the mouth's of babes. The kids did a great job. Kudos to instructors Artemisia Hammon and Ruth Crawford.
